Republic day parade

Being in RCF has always given me the chance to spend every Republic day and Independence day morning in our own parade. This year however being called out for a PCom lecture made me feel a bit sad however during the break I got to witness something I didn’t know even happened in our city!
The lecture was in Dadar and as me and my friend went to have a bite during the break we noticed a Republic day parade! We had all the policemen, fireman and other services along with some army weapons on display (which didn’t see real at all. They were more of a mock up of the real thing. Atleast they tried :P) There were also a few school kids from Don Bosco marching for environmental awareness. We just got to see the last 5 minutes but from what I got from a police officer, the parade lasted 45 minutes and goes along a long route before it ends at 5 gardens. I loved the dodgy look the officer gave me on inquiring. I asked him “Excuse me sir. How long has this parade been going on for?” and he replied “err why are you asking?”
Anyway, its good to see such events. Maybe next time I’ll spend I-D or R-D in Dadar. I might be one hundreds of onlookers on Tilak Bridge or atop the Dadar bridge looking down at the whole thing
